The Purple People Bridge

Provides information on the country’s longest (2,670-foot span) all-pedestrian bridge that links two states. The 131-year-old L&N Bridge reopened in the spring of 2003 after receiving a $4.1 million makeover that included a coat of bright purple paint. The “Purple People Bridge” includes park benches and flowering seasonal planters. This bridge begins/ends on the Levee's northeast side.
